Our Assistant Controller will lead a team responsible for the day-to-day operations of our growing family of franchises. Specific areas of responsibility include general accounting oversight for multiple locations, management of our accounting team, period-end closing, and other accounting functions. This position directly supports the Chief Financial Officer and will have a significant role in acquisition-related work. We anticipate great room for growth in this role!
What You'll Do
- Manage financial close processes in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage our Accounting Manager and share oversight of the bookkeeping staff.
- Review accounts and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
- Work with the Accounting Manager, General Managers, and CFO to analyze and communicate financial performance to our leadership team.
- Play a key role in acquisition-related tasks including due diligence, integration of acquired company financial information and processes in accordance with GAAP.
- Routinely audit processes and procedures.
- Work with the CFO to maintain and roll-up financials within the company accounting software.
- Provide leadership as we add to our team.
- Adopt, implement, and audit internal control measures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years accounting experience with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory position.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ability to interpret and implement accounting guidance in an increasingly complex business environment.
- Ability to champion the accounting and bookkeeping team reflective of our Core Values.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, comfort in a fast-paced, team-based culture.
- Software and inventory systems experience a plus.
- Working knowledge and experience in QuickBooks Online required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA desired but not required for the experienced candidate.
- Experience in process implementation and improvement.
- Merger and Acquisition knowledge a plus.
What we Offer
- Competitive Salary ranging from $80-100,000 per year DOE
- 401(k) with company match, Comprehensive Insurance Package
- You will receive a lump sum of 64 hours which will increase with years of tenure to a maximum of 112 hours. Please be aware PTO will not be available until after 90 days of employment.
