This is a Commercial HVAC Service Manager role where you will manage and support the commercial service operations of the company. This includes overseeing and guiding the daily dispatching and efficiencies of the service technicians and department. This manager routinely works directly with service technicians, dispatch personnel, and other managers to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives.  In this role, you will also communicate directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of job or project status and requirements. The Commercial HVAC Service Manager is expected to handle all aspects of the service department, routinely evaluating the technicians’ skill sets and training needs to ensure training and product knowledge are ongoing while supporting the company’s ongoing profitability and growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of commercial HVAC service technicians.
  • Coordinate and schedule service calls and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and safety standards.
  • Customer Service:
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and technicians.
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the service team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of service reports and documentation.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in HVAC technology.
  • Provide hands-on support and training to technicians as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the service department.
  • Monitor expenses and optimize costs without compromising service quality.
  • Assist in the development of service contracts and pricing strategies.

Job Requirements

These are the minimum requirements to be considered for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced.
  • Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools and service software.
  • Valid HVAC certification and driver’s license.

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • Valid HVAC certification and driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills.
  • Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and an ability to use resources at hand to find solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks. 
  • Good computer skills: knowledge of Service Titan service software and proficiency in common software applications.
  • Possess a strong personal desire for improvement; and the desire to motivate technicians to be better tomorrow than they are today.
  • Have a clean, neat, and professional appearance; a top performer who can instill pride of workmanship in himself and others. 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and background. 
  • Ability and willingness to work a non-standard schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays as/if required.
