Food Trailer Team Member

542 Gretna Rd, Branson, Missouri, 65616, US

Ozarks Home Services Neighborly Food Tour

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Approximately 7:00 AM–3:30/4:00 PM, four staggered weekdays Monday–Friday

We are looking for a dependable, friendly team member to work with the Ozarks Home Services Neighborly Food Tour, a mobile community-outreach food trailer that provides complimentary meals at local businesses, community organizations, first-responder events, schools, churches, and other invited locations throughout the area.

This position is primarily focused on serving guests, keeping the trailer clean and organized, assisting with food preparation and setup, and completing cleaning and sanitation duties before, during, and after each event.

The typical workday begins around 7:00 AM and ends between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 PM, depending on the event schedule, travel time, and cleanup. Employees will normally work four staggered weekdays between Monday and Friday rather than the same four days every week. Occasional schedule adjustments may be needed for special community events.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Help prepare and set up the food trailer for each day's event.
  • Assist with loading food, beverages, supplies, utensils, and serving items.
  • Travel with the food trailer to scheduled community and business locations.
  • Set up the serving area before guests arrive.
  • Serve complimentary meals in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Portion food consistently according to established procedures.
  • Refill serving pans, beverages, utensils, and supplies during service.
  • Keep serving and work areas clean and organized throughout the event.
  • Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store utensils and food-contact equipment.
  • Clean counters, sinks, equipment, floors, and other trailer surfaces.
  • Assist with trash removal and general cleanup.
  • Help clean the event area before leaving the property.
  • Monitor basic food temperatures and follow established food-safety procedures.
  • Follow handwashing, glove-use, sanitation, illness-reporting, and food-handling policies.
  • Help restock and prepare the trailer for the next event.
  • Perform other reasonable duties associated with operating and maintaining the food trailer.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone who is dependable, clean, organized, comfortable working with the public, and willing to stay busy.

Food-service experience is helpful but is not required. We can train the right person on our specific procedures.

ServSafe certification is preferred, particularly ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification.

Applicants should be able to work safely in a small commercial kitchen environment, follow written procedures, work as part of a team, communicate professionally with guests and host organizations, and maintain good personal hygiene and food-safety practices.

The position requires regular standing, bending, reaching, cleaning, and moving supplies throughout the workday. Employees should be able to safely lift and carry approximately 30–40 pounds as needed.

What This Job Is Like

This is different from working in a traditional restaurant. We take the food trailer to businesses and community organizations that have invited us to their location and provide meals at no charge as part of our community-outreach program.

A large part of the job is making sure guests have a good experience while keeping the trailer clean, stocked, sanitary, and running smoothly. There will be busy serving periods, but there will also be substantial setup, cleanup, dishwashing, restocking, and preparation work.

Cleaning is a major part of this position, not just something done at the end of the day.
