The Vice President of People Services serves as a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing company-wide people strategies across our multi-site consumer services organization. This role drives organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, and measurable business outcomes by aligning talent strategies with our mission. The VP of People Services leads a team of People Services professionals, ensuring consistent execution of people initiatives across all locations while navigating the complexities of evolving workforce dynamics.

Job Duties:

Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership 

Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, partnering with leaders, regional managers, and branch managers to translate business strategy into people strategies. Lead the development and execution of company-wide People Services that drive business performance, including (but not limited to) workforce planning, organization design & structure, culture transformation, and talent optimization. Serve as a strategic People Services business partner to the leadership team on critical people matters, including (but not limited to) organizational alignment, M&A integration, and risk mitigation. Build and maintain strong relationships with board members and leaders providing regular reporting on workforce metrics, compliance posture, and strategic people initiatives. 

People Services Team Leadership 

Oversee and develop the People Services team including the HR Manager, HR coordinators, and HR Recruiters. Establish performance metrics, service level standards, and accountability frameworks for the People Services team. Drive consistency and excellence in service delivery while allowing for customization, where appropriate. Champion a customer service oriented approach that positions the People Services as a trusted partner to the leadership team and the organization. 

Employee Relations 

Establish a company-wide approach (and/or frameworks) for managing employee relations matters, ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant resolution of issues. Oversee investigations into high-risk or sensitive employee relations matters, providing leadership with recommendations and risk assessments. Partner with legal counsel on employment-related litigation, agency charges, and compliance audits, ensuring company preparedness and appropriate risk mitigation. Develop proactive strategies to maintain positive employee relations and minimize legal exposure

Talent Management & Organization Effectiveness 

Oversee end-to-end talent lifecycle management – attracting, hiring, designing and implementing talent management strategies (succession planning, leadership development, performance management frameworks, and career progression pathways) and retention. Leverage workforce analytics and predictive modeling to inform strategic decisions around talent acquisition, retention, compensation, and organizational design. Create integrated solutions that attract, develop, and retain top talent in competitive markets. Lead organization design initiatives that optimize structure, eliminate inefficiencies, and position the organization for scalable growth. Oversee workforce planning processes that ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and bench strength. 

Performance Empowerment & Total Rewards 

Evolve performance management systems that recognize merit, drive accountability and support growth. Ensure compensation and benefits remain competitive, equitable, and performance based. Leverage data and analytics to inform pay equity, recognition, and retention strategies. 

Culture & Change Management 

Serve as the architect of culture, driving initiatives with the business that foster engagement and alignment with company values. Lead change management efforts, including mergers & acquisitions, restructures, or strategic pivots, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained adoption. Create leadership development programs that build capabilities at all levels of the organization. Design and implement employee listening strategies (surveys, focus groups, stay/exit interviews) and translate insights into actionable improvement plans. 

Compliance & Risk Management 

Ensure company-wide compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Develop/maintain comprehensive policies, procedures, and training programs that mitigate legal and reputational risk. Manage the People Services budget, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and ROI on people investments. Establish audit protocols and quality assurance processes to ensure consistency and compliance across all sites.

The pay range for this position is $150k - $160k a year with a target bonus of 30%!

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR/People Services experience, with at least 5 years in senior/executive HR roles 
  • Proven track record leading HR functions in multi-site, geographically dispersed organizations (300+ employees) 
  • Experience leading through significant organizational change (mergers, acquisitions, restructures, rapid growth) 
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic business partner at all levels inclusive of experience advising C-suite leaders and boards 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to connect people strategies to financial performance and operational outcomes 
  • Ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing team members across multiple locations 
  • Executive presence, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with leadership, boards, and diverse stakeholder groups 
  • Analytical capabilities and comfort using data, metrics, and predictive analytics to drive decision-making and demonstrate ROI 
  • Knowledge in employment law and risk management 
  • Ability to navigate complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities while maintaining focus on strategic objectives 
  • Experience implementing and optimizing HRIS platforms (experience with ADP, Paylocity, Rippling, or similar systems preferred) 
  • Collaborative leadership style with a track record of building trust and credibility across all company levels 

Travel:

  • Travel required (20-40%) to support multi-site operations and regional & branch management. Employee must own or lease a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license with insurance coverage
